Furyk possesses one of the most distinctive and recognizable swings on the PGA Tour, a swing that he describes as natural and athletic. His only teacher has been his father, Mike, who started Jim putting cross-handed at age seven, on the advice of Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Furyk is considered to be one of the best putters on Tour. . . Member of the 1997, 1999 and 2002 Ryder Cup Team. . . Member of the 1998, 2000 & 2003 Presidents Cup Team . . .Set PGA Tour record for most money earned without a victory with $1.6 million in '97. Since then, the total was raised to $3.4 million by Vijay Singh in 2001...Has been sidelined since the Sony Open in Hawaii with a injury in his left wrist, which an MRI revealed torn cartilage. The wrist has been bothering him since late last year.
