Philips Electronics joins Ryder Cup Suppliers
Royal Philips Electronics of The Netherlands, the largest electronics company in Europe, has become the Preferred Supplier of Consumer Electronics to The 2006 Ryder Cup.

Royal Philips Electronics of The Netherlands, the largest electronics company in Europe, is to become the Preferred Supplier of Consumer Electronics to The 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club, Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland, from September 22-24, 2006.
Ryder Cup Europe LLP announced the agreement with Philips, which will provide all the LCD and plasma screen monitors required to service the public and corporate areas at The K Club.
Philips, one of the world's biggest electronics companies with sales of €30.3 billion in 2004, is active in the healthcare, lifestyle and technology domains and employs 161,100 people in more than 60 countries. The company also enjoys market leadership in medical diagnostic imaging and patient monitoring, television sets, electric shavers, lighting and silicon system solutions.
John Coogan, Commercial Manager of Philips Ireland Ltd, said: "Our award-winning Philips FlatTVTM and business display solutions will add an additional enjoyment factor for visitors to The 2006 Ryder Cup, and we are delighted to be associated with one of the most prestigious events in the 2006 golfing calendar."
Richard Hills, European Ryder Cup Director, said: "With 45,000 spectators on site each day, it is imperative that the action is accessible to all ticket holders in all the key areas on and off the course.
"With the full range of Philips LCD televisions and flat screen plasma televisions at our disposal, we believe that the spectators in the public centres such as the Tented Village and corporate areas, as well as the Media Centre, will all enjoy the best quality pictures of the two teams challenging for The Ryder Cup."
