Post Foursomes Quotes from: DAVID HOWELL and HENRIK STENSON
22 September 2006
Q. Every half point counts. David, how close when you hit that, did you think you made it?
DAVID HOWELL: I thought it was dying enough and had a chance, but David Toms hit a fantastic putt and it would have been fantastic if we had both holed instead of missed. Henrik his first time out played fantastic and he carried me round. In the end, half a point, every point counts.
Q. I think a lot of people expected to see you out this morning in the four balls. How do you feel about making your Ryder Cup debut in the foursomes?
HENRIK STENSON: I thought there was a bigger possibility that I would play in the better ball in the morning, but it worked out fine for me. I went down on the first tee and saw the welcome the boys had in the morning and then just prepared for the second round and quite happy with the way I played today.
Q. Have you had any indication that you will be out tomorrow morning?
HENRIK STENSON: No, I mean, I'm 30 seconds off the last green. So like he said in Monty Python, "I know nothing."
Q. David, what's the feeling at the camp at the moment?
DAVID HOWELL: Well, we had a good day, depending on how this last match ends up.
What's the situation, we could come out with a lead. If we can win, we get a win, and if we don't, we can't win this thing today anyway. You never know how this next day is going to do, but all in all, it's a positive.
