Player Notes
Toms ranked fifth on the PGA Tour money list in 2005, thanks largely to his win at the World Golf Match Play Championship. However, late in the year he had a health scare. While playing at the 84 Lumber Classic in September of 2005, Toms collapsed and was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a heart condition called Superventricular Tachycardia, a term for a rapid heart rate orginating above the ventricles. In November, Toms had surgery to correct the non-life threatening ailment. He bounced back from the surgery by winning the first full-field PGA Tour event of the 2006 season in Hawaii. Though he's suffered through some back problems this summer, Toms is back on top of his game.
