The United States have won The Ryder Cup for the first time since 1999, ending a run of three successive victories for Europe, after an epic encounter at Valhalla Golf Club. Led by six rookies, the underdog Americans took 7 1/2 of Sunday's 12 singles matches to seal their first victory in nine years.
