Robert Karlsson has been a model of consistency in the 2008 season, with the towering Swede recording a staggering nine top ten finishes–including six in a row. Can also claim to be the only European player to finish in the top 20 in all four Major Championships in 2008, a feat matched by Phil Mickelson from an American perspective. Began his season by finishing joint runner-up in the UBS Hong Kong Open, before starting an incredible run of results with a tied eighth finish in the Masters Tournament. Thereafter, top five finishes followed in the Methorios Capital Open (where he carded a course record 61 on the second day), The Irish Open, the BMW PGA Championship, The Celtic Manor Wales Open and the US Open Championship. Karlsson's cheque for €195,349 for finishing fourth at Torrey Pines Golf Club effectively sealed his place in the European Team, which was subsequently cemented with top ten finishes in The European Open and The 137th Open Championship. Karlsson is making a second successive Ryder Cup appearance after being part of the European Team's triumph at The K Club in 2006.
