Rolex extends Partnership with The Ryder Cup
The prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer will be an Official Partner of the next two European-staged contests: The 2010 Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, South Wales, and The 2014 Ryder Cup at The Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, Scotland. Rolex first fulfilled this role at The 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club, Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland.
Rolex will continue as an Official Partner of the European Team in the next two contests held in the United States: The 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky from September 19-21 and The 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club, Medinah, Illinois.
Recognised the world over as the leader in the Swiss watchmaking industry, Rolex has, since the late 1960s, enjoyed a privileged relationship with golf, based on common values. Today Rolex is associated with the most important entities in the world of golf.
The association of Rolex with The European Tour dates back over 20 years, making it one of the Tour's longest-standing sponsors. Rolex has sponsored the biennial Ryder Cup as Official Timekeeper since 1995 at Oak Hill Country Club in New York.
Today's announcement further strengthens the links between Rolex, Ryder Cup Europe and The European Tour. The agreement is part of a broader partnership which includes Rolex's position as Official Timekeeper for The European Tour, the European Seniors Tour and the European Challenge Tour.
Rolex will support more than 20 tournaments on The European Tour International Schedule during the 2008 season, as well as the four Major Championships, the World Golf Championships, and The Senior Open Championship, presented by MasterCard.
