Europe suffered a humbling 22-2 defeat in the Junior Ryder Cup after being outplayed by a sensational United States Team at The Club at Olde Stone, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The result bodes well for the US Ryder Cup Team as it comes against a run of four successive matches when Europe won three and halved one, as the US recorded only their second victory in the Junior Ryder Cup. With the US Ryder Cup Team hoping to turn the tide after three European victories, the omens may be good.

After falling behind 10 - 1 on the first day of foursomes and fourballs, Europe needed a spectacular turnaround in fortunes but were unable to turn the tide as the US swept the board with only Scot Carly Booth salvaging half a point to prevent a complete whitewash of the singles.

The two teams next head for Valhalla where they will play a nine-hole Friendship Match over the Ryder Cup course on Wednesday, an experience both teams are sure to savour as they play in front of the huge crowds gathered in Louisville.
