LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- PGA Professionals from the Kentucky Section will give free 10-minute lessons to fans attending the 37th Ryder Club at Valhalla Golf Club, Sept. 16-21 (Tuesday-Sunday). The free lessons will be given at the PGA Learning Center presented by American Express, located between Hole #7 and the practice range. This mobile version of The PGA Learning Center was co-created by The PGA of America and American Express to replicate the PGA's impressive facility located in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The PGA Learning Center is an air-conditioned 6,000 square-foot area designed to enhance the fan experience. It will feature a golf simulator, putting green, chipping green, four hitting bays, golf swing video analysis, video screens for live tournament feeds, interactive instructional computer kiosks, and a stage for clinics.

The PGA Learning Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily (Tuesday-Sunday) and will feature free 10-minute lessons from Kentucky PGA Professionals each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Complimentary special clinics conducted by PGA Professionals will be held Tuesday-Friday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Saturday at 9 a.m. The free lessons, clinics, contests, and activities are all being offered as part of the PGA's national Play Golf America campaign.

"Fans attending the 37th Ryder Cup will have the opportunity to improve their game by receiving complimentary lessons from PGA Professionals at The PGA Learning Center presented by America Express," PGA of America President Brian Whitcomb said. "Fans will be able to cheer for their favorite team while experiencing first hand how a PGA Professional can improve their game, making golf more enjoyable."

Almost 20,000 fans visited The PGA Learning Center presented by America Express at the 90th PGA Championship at Oakland Hills in August with almost 3,000 fans receiving expert instruction from a team of 75 PGA Professional volunteers.

Play Golf America, designed to increase participation among new and existing golfers, was developed by The PGA of America, with the support of Allied Associations including: the LPGA, National Golf Course Owners Association, PGA Tour, USGA and others involved in the Golf 20/20 Conference.
