U.S. analysis: Finding a partner for Phil Mickelson hasn't been easy at recent Ryder Cups where he had gone 1-7-1. So U.S. Captain Paul Azinger appears to have hit the jackpot with the feisty Kim. Lefty is energized by the youngster and the two have very complementary styles of play. Not to mention, they never give up and have rallied from deficits of 3 down in each of their first two matches. Look for this pairing to continue on Saturday afternoon, too.

Europe analysis: Wilson was the only European to sit in each of the first two sessions. He needs some experience before Sunday's Singles, though, so European Captain Nick Faldo is sending him off with Stenson. The Swede has yet to win in team competition in two Ryder Cups, but on paper their games appear complementary. The two average within 3 yards of each other in driving distance and hit 70 percent of their greens in regulation so this could be a good match.

Notes: Mickelson won as many points on Friday as he did in the last two Ryder Cups combined. ... Stenson is a proven winner head-to-head -- capturing the 2007 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and finishing third this year.

Outlook: The Americans look too strong for the untested Europeans. Mickelson and Kim have gained confidence with every hole they've played together and are fast emerging as one of Azinger's go-to duos.
