14484The European shouts of 'Ole' rang out as Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose headed to the first tee, but Mickelson got a massive cheer from the U.S. fans. Rose found the center of the fairway and Mickelson's drive skimmed the right edge of the rough. Rose's approach ran through to the back of the green, 15 feet from the pin. Mickelson's shot also ran past the flag but stopped 10 feet from the cup. A fine putt from Rose pulled up just inches from the hole and was conceded. Mickelson too left it right in the jaws as the hole was halved in 4s.
25054Mickelson's approach stopped 15 feet from the pin, but Rose found the bunker. Rose chipped out to a foot and Mickelson 2-putts to halve the hole in 4s.
32063Rose found the bunker again and Mickelson kept the pressure on, finding the middle of the green 10 feet from the pin. Rose got up and down, holing for par. Mickelson 2-putted to halve the hole in 3s.
