Confident players will attempt to carry two separate stretches of water to reach the 12th green. The tee shot must cross the edge of a lake to the left to find a fairway that is defended by a very deep pot bunker and a larger fairway bunker. Although a safer route, taking these traps out of the equation, is available to the right of the fairway, this will leave a tougher approach shot. Either way, the lake that borders the front of the green must be carried in such a way as to hold the small green while avoiding greenside bunkers to the left and right of the putting surface.
