Match Overview

Poulter seized control early in this one, making a 25-foot birdie putt on the third hole for a 1-up lead. Poulter took a 2-up advantage at the fifth hole after Kuchar found the water with his approach shot. A two-putt par on No. 10 was good for a 3-up lead for Poulter. Poulter followed that up with a birdie chip-in on No. 11 to extend his lead to 4-up. Kuchar knocked his deficit to 3-down after a stellar approach on No. 12 set up a short birdie. Poulter ran his lead back to 4-up with a birdie on No. 14. Poulter finished off Kuchar with his seventh birdie of the day on No. 14 for a 5&4 victory.
