T.J.'s Take: The slump continues for Mahan. Previously at the Travelers Championship, Mahan's line looked like this: a win, a tie for second and a tie for fourth. Not too shabby. This past weekend was nothing like that, however. Mahan went into Hartford with three consecutive missed cuts. On Friday, he extended that streak - the kind no player wants to extend. It's now been four missed cuts in a row for Mahan. In Connecticut he shot rounds of 71-72 to miss the cut by five shots. He needs to turn it around soon.

T.J.'s Take: Barnes has just been a top-10 machine in 2010 and that translated yet again last week with his tie for fifth in the Travelers Championship. For the second time this season, Barnes posted four consecutive rounds in the 60s and for the sixth time in 2010, he recorded a top-10 finish. With the solid play, Barnes moved up one position in this week's standings and surely has to be making an impression on captain Pavin with his consistency.

T.J.'s Take: Cink slipped one spot to No. 12 this week with a tie for 47th at the Travelers Championship. The bummer was the fact that Cink's 2-over 72 in the final round caused him to drop 22 spots on Sunday. If there's one big positive Cink can take away from his week in New England, it's the fact that his 5-under 65 in the second round equaled his lowest score of the season.

T.J.'s Take: With a long overdue victory at the Travelers Championship, Watson is the PGA Tour's newest first-time winner and has vaulted into U.S. Ryder Cup discussion. It was nearly the win that wasn't for Watson, who rallied from six shots behind in the final round and fought through a three-way, two-hole playoff for the victory. In prime position to win the tournament in regulation, Watson took a stinging double-bogey 6 on the par-4 17th hole. Resilient as ever, Watson bounced back with a birdie on the last hole to earn a spot in the playoff. No. 18 was the first hole of the playoff and Watson nearly ended the proceedings right there with a hole-out for eagle with scared the cup and settled just inches away. Watson was very emotional after the win and deservedly so.
