In 2009, Goydos finished a career-best No. 54 in the FedExCup standings with top-10 finishes at the Valero Texas Open, St. Jude Classic, Travelers Championship and The Barclays. He has three career top-10 finishes at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in 10 starts. Retained PGA tour Card for 2003 after a top-17 finish at the 2002 Qualifying School. He went on to play in 20 tournaments that season. Goydos' first Tour victory came at the 1996 Bay Hill Invitational and he first began playing in the PGA Tour in 1992 due to a T12 finish at the Qualifying Tournament. in July 9, 2010, Goydos became the fourth player in history to shoot 59 in a Tour event when he accomplished the feat at the John Deere Classic. He was a substitute teacher in Long Beach, CA at the time of his 1992 Yuma Open Victory.
