Ryder Cup Europe LLP respectfully requests that all spectators observe the following guidelines at all times during Ryder Cup week and familiarise themselves with the event site and facilities in advance of arrival.
The basic concept of managing diversity accepts that all our spectators and staff are made up from a diverse population of people from all over the world.
All our visitors, both internal and external, are eligible for the same quality and level of service Ryder Cup Europe will endeavour to deliver this by:
· Providing services to meet customers actual, rather than presumed, needs;
· Providing accessible information about the event
· Ensuring all our staff and volunteers are trained to provide an appropriate and informed response to all customers and stakeholders
· Delivering services in ways which are appropriate to their needs and, wherever possible, removing barriers which may deny access;
· Ensuring any complaints of discrimination are dealt with speedily and fairly*
What are the provisions for those with disabilities at The 2014 Ryder Cup?
All disability is individual and therefore Ryder Cup Limited will try to respond individually to each spectator by providing a team of specifically designated Spectator Assistance Volunteers to aid in the movement of persons throughout the venue. We endeavor to provide a high standard of accessible facilities for all visitors and spectators with a disability, including those using a wheelchair.
How do I get access to Spectator Assistance?
Spectator Assistants will be at the Park & Ride sites as well as at various locations around the course.

Before the event and on the day we will have on hand “Access Buddies” at the event who will be there to help and they will be easily identifiable.
We will also have “Access Buddy” volunteers at entry points to the event at Gleneagles Station, the three Park and Ride site’s and at Gleneagles itself.
These “Access Buddies” will all have been trained to provide specific help to people with limited mobility, sensory impairment, older customers and those who just need a little bit of extra help to find their way about.
I have a blue badge. Where do I park?
For blue badge holders there will be dedicated bays at the front of each Park and Ride site, with minimum walking distance to the bus itself. There will be Spectator Assistances across the Park and Ride sites and at Gleneagles, where there will be facilities to transport members of the public who require specific assistance to a central point on the course.
I am a wheelchair user. Where do I park?
As a wheelchair user you have already made yourself known through the ticketing process. There will be a designated disabled car park close to the course, the location will be confirmed in due course. A shuttle bus, with wheelchair access, will be provided from this confirmed area and will drop the spectators as close to the course as possible. You will be sent your parking pass with your Ryder Cup ticket.
What facilities are on site for those with disabilities?
There will be disabled toilets located in the Ryder Cup Village and at all Public Areas on-course.
All public tented facilities including public catering, merchandise pavilion, interactive zone, etc. will have ramped as well as stair access. The majority of structures which have more than one floor will have a lift for use.
What is Event Mobility? Can I bring my own scooter?
Event Mobility Charitable Trust will be providing approximately 30 Mobility Scooters per day for those with walking disabilities. It is strongly recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
To reserve a mobility scooter or manual wheelchair you can book on line at www.eventmobility.org.uk/events-bookings.asp, print out an advance booking form from the website or contact the office on 01386 725391 to request a form to be posted to you. Please be aware that advance bookings cannot be made by phone.
Users will be provided with a map directing the areas where the scooters can travel on-course and the no go areas which must be followed.
Scooters will be available for hire from Tuesday, September 23rd – Sunday, September 28th.
Event Mobility will be located at the Yellow Bus Terminal. It will not be possible to avail of the Event Mobility buggies from the Stirling Park and Ride(WEST). If you wish to use this service and have booked in advance you will need to park at either MacDiarmid Park (NORTH) or Balado Park and Ride (EAST). If you are travelling by train there will be a shuttle from the station to the Gleneagles pick up area for Event Mobility.
It is not possible to bring your own scooters onto the course.
We welcome All Assistance Dogs
Customers/Spectators with Assistance Dogs, (hearing dogs, guide dogs etc.,) will be welcome at all our events. We will provide a toilet area for your dog which will be fenced off so that they can be unleashed. They will be able to ride with you in the transport provided to the event from the park and ride. We ask that you keep your assistance dog on the lead while at the event, except of course in the marked toilet areas.

Spectators are required to show their accreditation and ticket at security checkpoints, which are at the Park and Rides and the Bus Terminals. There is NO READMITTANCE. Spectators will not be able to re-enter the event site once they have left.
There are ATM machines in the Ryder Cup Village and at key locations, provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland. To celebrate The 2014 Ryder Cup, the Royal Bank of Scotland has issued a unique and strictly limited edition Ryder Cup £5 commemorative banknote. Presentation folio editions with sealed uncirculated banknote and illustrated 2014 event narrative are available in the Merchandise Pavilion and satellite shops as an official memento of The 2014 Ryder Cup. Ticket holders may also purchase a limit of one banknote at face value in the designated RBS banknote-exchange kiosks.
Spectators are kindly requested not to ask players for autographs on Match Days. There is a dedicated autograph area on the Practice Range for juniors on Practice Days.
Big screens and scoreboards are strategically placed around the course on holes 1, 6, 8, 9 and 11-18. There are two big screens in the Ryder Cup Village, and at each Park and Ride.
BMW CAR DISPLAY & REMOTE CONTROL CARS
BMW are displaying their latest models and the chance to experience the latest technology in their car display area. There is also the crowd favourite remote control car race track where spectators can compete against each other for the fastest lap times.
Cameras are permitted ONLY on Practice Days – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Cameras are NOT permitted on Match Days – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Although mobile phones are permitted on all six days of the event, the use of the camera facility is as per the above.
There is no public crèche facility on site. No children under five are permitted entry to The 2014 Ryder Cup.
If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.
First Aid facilities are located in the Ryder Cup Village. There are also First Aid facilities in all on-course public catering areas. In the event of a medical emergency, please approach a volunteer, course marshal or event official, who will contact on-site emergency personnel.
FOOD & DRINK
The Ryder Cup has teamed up with Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts to deliver the public catering in the Ryder Cup Village. There is a wide range of delicious food on offer, sourced from all over Scotland, for spectators to enjoy. There are four on-course catering areas as indicated on the Spectator Map.
Our official coffee supplier, Nespresso, can provide a cup of coffee in all the public catering areas, as well as at their own dedicated stand in the Ryder Cup Village.

The consumption of alcohol is permitted only in the bars or other authorised areas or places during hours decided by the Management, and the right is reserved to close bars at any time.

All grandstand seating is free and available to the public on a first come first served basis. These are located at the Practice Ground and on holes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10-18. NO ALCOHOL OR SMOKING in the grandstands.
No visit to The 2014 Ryder Cup would be complete without a visit to the Ryder Cup Heritage Centre in the Ryder Cup Village. It documents the 87-year history of the great contest with numerous items of memorabilia. Open daily from 07.30 until half an hour after play finishes.
The Information Centre is located in the Event Scotland entrance at the start of the Ryder Cup Village. Programmes and draw sheets are also available here.

LIVE @ THE RYDER CUP
Based in between The Striding Man Public Bar and the main food courts, come and listen to the Live Radio Broadcasters and TV presenters discussing the day’s play with past players and golf-mad celebrities, as well as updates from the Course. As soon as play has finished, this will be the venue for live bands to keep the spectators entertained and to savour up the atmosphere of The Ryder Cup before they head home.
Children who become separated from their parents or guardians will be taken to the Joint Operations Command Centre (JOCC) behind the Volunteers’ HQ and Media Centre. Contact the nearest Ryder Cup volunteer if your child is lost.
LOST PROPERTY/LEFT LUGGAGE
The lost property point is situated in the Ryder Cup Village. There are limited free left luggage facilities at all three Park and Rides and at Gleneagles Station, the Yellow Bus Terminal and the Blue Bus Terminal.
You can have your picture taken on the captains’ buggies and other iconic backdrops from Ryder Cups at the Memorable Moments stand in the Ryder Cup Village.
A wide range of Official Ryder Cup merchandise is on sale at the Official Merchandise Shop in the Ryder Cup Village. The shop offers the chance to personalise some select items, and provides an international shipping service for goods of a reasonable size/weight after passing through the tills. Merchandise is also available from the Official Ryder Cup Shop website euroshop.rydercup.com, and a ‘click and collect’ service will be available on-site for items purchased online during the event.

- Mobile phone cameras are NOT permitted on Match Days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
- No video recording is permitted at any time.
- Using a mobile phone in an unauthorised area or in ways not permitted may result in the phone being confiscated. It can be collected at a designated location after departing the venue.
Tablets are allowed but must follow the same rules as for mobile phones.
MOËT & CHANDON BAR & BRASSERIE
The Moët & Chandon Bar & Brasserie is on the top floor of the public catering area in the Ryder Cup Village. Tables cannot be booked in advance of the event, but can be reserved in person on the day.
MOUTON CADET WINE BAR
The Mouton Cadet Wine Bar serves snacks and a range of Mouton Cadet vintage wines. It is located in the Ryder Cup Village.
MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT
A host of local Scottish bands are performing throughout the week, on the central stage in the Ryder Cup Village during Practice Days, and in the same place immediately after play on Match Days.
OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONIES
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place on the afternoons of Thursday September 25 and Sunday September 28 respectively. The ceremonies are open to the public (with valid corresponding day’s admission ticket). Public viewing will be standing only.
The Opening Ceremony will take place between the Gleneagles Hotel and the clubhouse as shown on the Spectator Map. The Closing Ceremony will take place on the 18th hole of the PGA Centenary Course.

PGA TEACHING ACADEMY
Get involved with a free ten minute lesson from a PGA professional in the PGA Teaching Academy hitting bays in the Ryder Cup Village. Open to all ages and abilities.
The 2014 Ryder Cup Practice Days are the best opportunity for fans to see the stars of both Ryder Cup teams up close and in relaxed mood as they get acquainted with the PGA Centenary course at Gleneagles. The teams will practise on course and at the driving range, where special autograph areas have been arranged.
Designed as a world-class day out, the days preceding the three Match Days include the Opening Ceremony on Thursday September 25 and the Junior Ryder Cup Friendship Match on Wednesday September 24, which will showcase golf’s best young talent.
Tuesday September 23 will be Tartan Tuesday, a charitable element to the first day of Ryder Cup week where spectators are encouraged to wear a piece of tartan as a sign of welcome to the Ryder Cup players, who will be on course for the first time as a team. One-off tartan clothes pins will also be on sale at the event, with all proceeds going to the official Ryder Cup charities.
There will also be a range of family-friendly activities, from a dedicated Kids’ Corner where children will have fantastic views of the players and autograph opportunities, to a special Treasure Hunt where families will be encouraged to explore the course, uncovering some of its hidden gems.
The Ryder Cup Village will also offer an array of interactive activities, performances from local musicians and a chance to explore Ryder Cup memorabilia first hand.

The following items are prohibited from being taken beyond ticket and security checkpoints or into the venue: bags and rucksacks greater than 12” in any dimension; cameras on Match Days; ladders; picnic baskets; briefcases; portable TVs; pushchairs; bicycles; deckchairs; audible pagers and banners; personal mobility scooters.

RYDER CUP WRISTBANDS
All grounds access spectators will be issued with a special Ryder Cup Wristband. This will arrive with your tickets and will have its own information leaflet. To get the best out of your Ryder Cup Experience, we recommend that you pre-register your wristband to ensure that you can compete and take part in all the experiential activities on offer at the Ryder Cup, as well as link in with all your friends and family who cannot be at the event with you through automatic social media updates on Facebook and Twitter. Further information and details on how to pre-register and the benefits of your wristband will be detailed in the information leaflet attached within your ticket wallet.
Walk The Course
Did you know that walking The PGA Centenary Course, from the Championship tees, is the equivalent of walking more than 4 miles? Why not get active and take on the challenge of walking The PGA Centenary Course whilst on site at The 2014 Ryder Cup, and using your RFID wristbands, take the opportunity to “check-in” at various stations around the course. In doing so, not only will you be getting active but you will also have the chance to win some fantastic prizes, with a great holiday break for those who successfully check in at all nine stations up for grabs.
THE STRIDING MAN BAR
The Striding Man Bar provided by DIAGEO promises to be one of the major gathering points in the heart of the Ryder Cup Village.
Smoking is not permitted in any structure, including outdoor balconies.
SUGGESTIONS FOR SPECTATORS
- Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the players in the group have played or holed out.
- Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.
- Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable.
- Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row.
- Keep behind the ropes and barriers around the course and use the official crossing points.
- Familiarise yourself with the location of First Aid stations and refreshment areas.
- Consider other spectators when using an umbrella.
- Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed.
- Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.
Public toilets are in the Ryder Cup Village and on-course at holes 2, 4, 8, 12 and 14. Disabled toilets are also in these areas.
Please observe the scoreboards and big screens for the weather warning sign, which will be shown if bad weather is approaching. When this sign appears, seek shelter PRIOR to play being suspended. If the air horn sounds, put umbrellas down and seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following: grandstands, metal fences, tall and isolated trees, bodies of water, open fields, telephone poles, hill tops, golf buggies, umbrellas.
