An Interview With: PHIL MICKELSON, KEEGAN BRADLEY, STEVE STRICKER, BRANDT SNEDEKER
Q. Thoughts being paired with Keegan?
PHIL MICKELSON: I'm really excited to play with Keegan. We have been wanting to play together for a while.
We have a very difficult match against Luke and Sergio. Luke has I don't think ever lost in foursomes and we are hopefully going to change that. But we are really excited about the matchup tomorrow and we are excited to get the matches started.
Q. Do you see any similarities being paired with Keegan like you were with Anthony Kim, the rookie/veteran deal?
PHIL MICKELSON: Yeah, his energy gets me excited and helps me stay focused on the next shot and get up for the match.
Q. How important are Chicago fans going to be?
PHIL MICKELSON: Chicago fans are going to be a big part of our success if we are going to come out on top and regain the Cup, because we need their momentum. We need their energy to get us to play our best golf and we need to play our best golf to beat a very tough European Team.
Q. Did you guys practice in this format in the practice rounds?
PHIL MICKELSON: Yes, we have practiced foursomes in the practice rounds, and have a pretty good game plan of how we are going to play the course.
Q. Thoughts playing with Tiger again tomorrow, the comfort level?
STEVE STRICKER: Yeah, we are excited to go back at it again and try to win a point. It's going to be fun. A lot of excitement and anticipation leading up to the start of the matches, and to get out there in the morning, we are really looking forward to it.
It's going to be tough playing Poulter and Justin Rose, they are both playing well. Every match is tough but it's fun to get out there and get going right away in the morning.
Q. Did you guys practice foursomes during the practice rounds?
STEVE STRICKER: We did a little bit today. We played a few holes of alternate shot and tried to get a little feel of it before tomorrow.
Q. Finally playing with him, is there a comfort level that reduces pressure, playing in an event like this?
STEVE STRICKER: We are friends and we get along with one another and we have a good time with one another. It's always fun to go out with a friend. It's a good time and there's a lot of fun, and like I say a lot of pressure to go along with it but we have a good time with it.
Q. Talk about playing with Jim tomorrow?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, really excited. Jim is playing great, a great guy to lean on, he's got so much experience.
Q. Talk about your game fitting foursomes?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: It's great, Jim is a straight down the middle kind of guy, been playing really, really well and obviously driving it pretty straight and a lot of quality iron shots. Look for us to go out there and have a lot of fun out there and I think we'll do really well and I think we'll team up perfectly for each other.
Q. Did you guys practice on the course?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: We did, we practiced the last two days doing that. We got a good idea of our strategy, what we are going to do on every hole, get an idea of how we are going to read putts and help each other. Just looking forward to getting out there and having a lot of fun tomorrow.
It will be a tough match, they are two of the best players in the world, they have a close relationship and they are going to come out swinging the first match of the day. I think my game stacks up against anybody's right now and I think Jim's does, too, so we are going to give them a hard match tomorrow and try to get that win.
Q. How does it feel to be paired with Phil tomorrow in foursomes?
KEEGAN BRADLEY: It feels great. I'm looking forward to playing with Phil. We have a great relationship and I think it's going to be a great partnership.
Q. How does your game fit into the foursomes format?
KEEGAN BRADLEY: I think it fits great. I've never played so I'm going to find out tomorrow. I pride myself on hitting fairways and Phil is a great iron player, so that seems to match up.
Q. Have you played any practice round with Phil this week using the foursomes format?
KEEGAN BRADLEY: Yes, we did. We did pretty well, too. He's easy to partner with. And I know if I just get him anywhere on that green, he's got a chance to make it.
Q. Talk about playing against Luke and Sergio tomorrow.
KEEGAN BRADLEY: I think it's great. Sergio and Luke have an unbelievable record. They are both legends in The Ryder Cup, and I think it's going to be fun for me and Phil to go up against them.
Q. One word to sum up what you're going to be feeling tomorrow on the first tee, first time in The Ryder Cup on home soil?
KEEGAN BRADLEY: Excited.
