The leading premium car manufacturer has been an important partner of The European Tour since BMW staged the BMW International Open for the first time in 1989. In 2005, BMW and The European Tour further extended their already strong partnership with BMW taking on title sponsorship of the Tour’s flagship event, the PGA Championship at Wentworth. In 2012, the European Tour received another gem in the form of the BMW Masters in Shanghai, which forms part of the coveted “Final Series”. Furthermore, BMW also supports numerous prestigious tournaments as Official Car Partner, as well as being the Official Car of The European Tour.” In 2014, BMW will be an Official Partner of the Ryder Cup and will provide the Courtesy Car service to the event.
