Countdown to The Ryder Cup continues

The second episode of the ‘Countdown to The Ryder Cup’ will be screened on Tuesday June 21, on the eve of the celebrations marking 100 days to go until the 41st edition of golf’s greatest team competition takes place at Hazeltine National.

The half hour programme will be shown on Sky Sports 4 from 9.30pm to 10pm, and will feature interviews with several players hoping to make Europe’s team.

Justin Rose reveals his passion for The Ryder Cup and discusses his partnership with Henrik Stenson, which broke numerous records at Gleneagles two years ago.

Meanwhile, Martin Kaymer relives holing the winning putt at Medinah in 2012, and the German also reveals his desire to impress Captain Darren Clarke as he bids to secure a fourth straight Ryder Cup appearance.

Clarke’s meticulous preparations for his captaincy bow are also covered, while the greenkeeping staff at host venue Hazeltine National discuss their course preparations ahead of the showpiece event.

The impact of the US Open Championship on the Ryder Cup Rankings is also touched on, as is the likely make-up of the American team which will bid to end a run of three successive defeats.
