Minnesota athletes help welcome Ryder Cup back to Hazeltine for 2028

The PGA of America announced that the Ryder Cup will return to the site of 2016's exciting U.S. victory at Hazeltine National Golf Club in 2028.

The gold-medal winning USA men's curling team helped get things going with the exciting news.

Then, Brent Kallman and Ethan Finlay, of the MLS squad Minnesota United FC, helped to give us all a heads up on the announcement.

Minnesota Wild stars Eric Staal, Zach Parise and Ryan Suter let us know Minnesota fans will be bringing their hockey spirit back to the golf course.

Minnesota Twins all star Joe Mauer was there in 2016. So were Minnesota Vikings standouts Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph, calling it one of the "most exciting sporting events" they've ever attended. Count them in to be along the ropes in 2028.

And local basketball stars Lindsay Whalen, of the Minnesota Lynx, and Karl Anthony-Towns, of the Minnesota Timberwolves, showed they are ready to support Ryder Cup USA from the hardwood.

If 2016 and the local support for the Ryder Cup since then is any indication, we will be in for another historic and electric atmosphere at Hazeltine in 2028.
