Karlsson's tee shot, also using a fairway wood, settled on the left side of the fairway. Woods' second shot was caught heavy and he squirted the ball into the fairway just in front of the green. Karlsson's second shot from 144 yards out stopped 15 feet below the hole. Third shot chip by Woods rolled to six feet from the hole. Karlsson's birdie putt to win the hole died into the cup for a 1-up advantage.
2 413 4 Woods' second shot from 147 yards out was hit to eight feet. Karlsson's second from the rough found the back fringe. Woods made his birdie putt to win the hole and squared the match.

Karlsson's birdie try from the fringe, about 18 feet away, snuck past the hole on the right side. Woods holed his five-footer for birdie to win the hole and go 1-up.
5 440 4 Karlsson's second shot from 149 yards out stopped 25 feet under the hole. Woods' second from the first-cut of rough 133 yards out with a wedge was stuffed to five feet. Woods holed his putt to win the hole and go 2-up.

Becasue of the depth of the water, the club could not immediately be retrieved and Woods played the rest of the way with just 13 clubs)
8 173 3 Karlsson's tee shot stayed on the fringe, just right of the green. Woods' tee shot hit the green, but spun back into the fringe. Woods' chip stopped two feet from the hole. Karlsson's chip hung on the lip and the two halved the hole. Woods remained 1-up.
9 461 4 Woods' approach from 172 yards out with a 6-iron stopped about eight feet from the flag. Karlsson's second shot wound up 12 feet behind the hole and to the right. Woods made birdie to go 2-up.
