14484The biggest first-tee roar of the day so far was for Franklin, Ky., resident Kenny Perry, playing his second Ryder Cup. The American was taking on Sweden's Henrik Stenson, playing in his third Ryder Cup. Stenson's drive found the middle of the fairway, while Perry's drive kicked right from the light rough and settled on the left side of the fairway. Stenson's iron landed just 6 feet to the left of the pin. Perry, whose 84-year-old father is watching, found the green with his ball some 12 feet below the hole. Perry holed his birdie putt as did Stenson to halve the hole.
25054The par-4 second hole saw both players find the fairway. Perry's second shot found the green, while Stenson found the bunker. Perry missed his birdie putt. Stenson splashed out of the bunker and then saw his putt stop some 4 feet past the hole. Perry holed out to get his par 4 to win the hole and go 1-up.
