The approach is crucial. Short is no good because you roll down the bank into the water and big is perhaps worse because it is very difficult to get up and down from that side. So shot control is vital which means you have to be in the fairway. If you are not in the fairway, you are not hitting the green and especially in October when the grass in the rough will probably be wet and long. So you must hit the fairway which is no easy task. A little wayward and you could be snared by one of several bunkers. By now on Friday and Saturday with all the matches on the course I expect my earpiece to be buzzing with information!
