Hole 16 Go to 15

No. 16

499 Yards
Par 4

I think this is a super hole. Like each of the last three holes, it will probably be played into the prevailing wind. The second shot here is one of the best second shots on our entire Tour. I think that this hole, tucked into a little hillside in the Usk Valley, is going to see great excitement. Anything right from the tee is likely to catch a bunker on the right. Even if the bunker is avoided the ball is likely to roll down a steep embankment. The big hitters can carry the bunker on the left which is at about 280 yards and if you do that, you can get a good kick down into the fairway which really is to your advantage. Even then you still face an intimidating approach to a very well protected green which is angled from left to right and at times difficult to hold.
