In 2009, Cink won his first major championship at the British Open at Turnberry, where he defeated Tom Watson in a playoff, and finished in the top 30 for the FedExCup for the third straight season. Later that year, he made the United States Presidents Cup team for the third consecutive time. In 2008, he won the Travelers Championship and was a member of the winning United States Ryder Cup team. With an all-time Ryder Cup record of 4-7-4, Cink will be counted on heavily to provide veteran leadership. Earned first PGA Tour victory in 1997 at the Canon Greater Hartford Open. While a standout at Georgia Tech, Cink received the 1995 Dave Williams, Haskins and Jack Nicklaus Awards as the country's top collegiate golfer. AJGA All-American in 1990.
