2018 Ryder Cup - Official Ground Regulations

  1. All persons must comply with instructions and decisions given by any person authorised by RC18CL, including Ryder Cup related and Venue staff, contractors, officials, representatives, officers, volunteers, stewards, or other security personnel, police officers and/or emergency and military services (each an “Authorised Person”).
  2. Where an age concession is claimed proof of identity and age may be required.
  3. As set out in the Ticket terms and conditions of use (the “Conditions”), RC18CL may refuse admission to or eject from the Venue, without refund, a Ticket Holder who:
    1. does not produce a valid Ticket upon request; and/or
    2. is in breach of any of the stipulations of the Ground Regulations and/or Conditions; and/or
    3. fails to comply with instructions given for safety, security, organisational or operational reasons from an Authorised Person; and/or
    4. disturbs the course of the event or impairs the safety of persons or the security of goods; and/or
    5. uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to any player or Authorised Person or otherwise or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace, or is acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or fails, when required, to produce proof of identity or age; and/or
    6. enters any area within the Venue where he/she is not permitted (including inside the ropes); and/or
    7. is in possession of a Prohibited Item (as defined below); and/or
    8. fails to produce valid photo ID upon request; and/or
    9. is the subject of any judicial or administrative measure prohibiting him/her from entering into or being in the vicinity of a venue in which a sporting event is taking place.
  4. Ticket Holders may be searched prior to entry into or within the Venue. Thus, the Ticket Holder may be invited to present items he/she is carrying for inspection. Any Ticket Holder refusing to be subject to controls, hand searches and inspections shall be denied access to the Venue or shall be ejected from the Venue.
  5. A valid Ticket must be produced by a Ticket Holder at appropriate entry points and/or on demand by any Authorised Person. No pass outs or readmissions are permitted.
  6. Entry into the Venue and demarcated areas will not be allowed to persons bearing the following Prohibited Items (“Prohibited Items”):
    1. cameras (save for any camera embedded in any Permitted Smart Phone) other than on practice days;
    2. animals (guide dogs permitted);
    3. stepladders, stilts or other similar items;
    4. dangerous weapons;
    5. fireworks/explosives or other pyrotechnics, smoke canisters, incendiary devices, flares;
    6. sticks and poles (including flag poles and selfie sticks);
    7. klaxons, megaphones and compressed air or gas operated horns;
    8. banners;
    9. alcoholic beverages;
    10. musical instruments;
    11. balls, Frisbees and similar items;
    12. bicycles, scooters, skateboards, skates (including in-line skates) and any other form of transport (including by way of example a hover board);
    13. non-accredited media equipment;
    14. cans and glass containers;
    15. deck chairs, gazebos;
    16. drones or similar devices;
    17. any objects or clothing containing political or commercial identification in breach of regulation 12 below;
    18. any other objects or items which may be deemed in the discretion of RC18CL to be offensive, disruptive, dangerous or likely to infringe any party’s rights or any party’s safety or security;
    19. any dangerous article or substance not referred to above; or
    20. any item similar or equivalent to any of the above that is not yet in existence.
  7. A Ticket Holder may only smoke in areas within the Venue nominated as smoking areas (if any).
  8. RC18CL reserves the right to confiscate or replace with product, of an equivalent quality and value, any non-alcoholic beverages or other products, including branded food and non-alcoholic beverage products, the importation of which will or may, in RC18CL’s opinion, infringe any party’s rights or any party’s safety or security.
  9. Mobile or other smart phone devices may be taken into the Venue and used only if they are smaller than the template set out in Exhibit 1 attached (“Permitted Smart Phones”) and in accordance with mobile device rules including:
    1. all devices must be in SILENT mode at all times (meaning no ring tone or other noise including alarm, keypad tone, message or battery notification);
    2. calls must be made or received in approved designated areas only; and
    3. the Recording Rules set out below.
  10. Recording Rules: photographs or other recordings of sound or images taken within the Venue may be used for personal, private, non-commercial purposes only, and accordingly the Ticket Holder shall be entitled to share or otherwise disseminate (but expressly excluding by way of live streaming) photographs via social media or equivalent platforms for non-commercial purposes to share the Ticket Holder’s experience (“Non-Commercial Use”). Save for Non-Commercial Use, it is strictly forbidden to make, distribute or otherwise disseminate over the internet, and it is strictly prohibited to make, distribute or otherwise disseminate over the radio, television or any other current and/or future media, any sound, picture, image, data, description, result and/or statistics of the matches in whole or in part, or to assist any other person(s) in conducting such activities. RC18CL reserves the right to prohibit all recordings of images or audio on match days.
  11. Other electronic devices (including computers, tablets or other communication devices or audio-visual equipment) may only be taken into and used at the Venue with the express approval of RC18CL. All devices referred to in this regulation must not inconvenience any other person in the Venue or disturb play. Any person that fails to comply with the rules set out in this regulation may be required to leave the Venue (without any right to a refund).
  12. Persons shall not engage in any form of “ambush marketing” (being an activity by a party which utilises the publicity value of an event without having any official involvement or connection with the event) and shall not breach or infringe the rights of any partners, sponsors, suppliers, broadcasters or other parties commercially associated with the Event, nor conduct unauthorised promotions or other commercial activity within or in the vicinity of the Venue.
  13. The consumption of intoxicating liquors must be in accordance with all applicable licensing laws and is only permitted in the bars or other authorised areas or places during hours decided by RC18CL. RC18CL reserves the right to close all or any bars at any time.
  14. The playing areas of the golf course shall be out of bounds at all times unless otherwise directed by an Authorised Person (such as by way of any designated crossing point accessible under direction of an Authorised Person).
  15. The Ticket Holder shall not behave in any manner deemed by RC18CL to be disruptive, to endanger the safety of other persons in the Venue and/or demarcated areas, to cause insult or offence to third parties or to obstruct unreasonably the viewing of other spectators. No person shall throw or discharge any missile or other article. Racist chanting or the use of foul or abusive language will not be tolerated.
  16. The obstruction of gangways, access-ways, exits, entrances or staircases, congregating in non-designated areas or seeking entry to stands or seats for which the Ticket Holder does not hold a valid Ticket, pass or authorisation is strictly forbidden. The climbing of walls, trees, fences, stands or any other structure in the Venue (including either side of any perimeter fencing) is strictly forbidden.
  17. Each person is entitled to bring in to the Venue one personal bag which is no bigger than 40cm x 30cm x 30cm (16” x 12” x 12”) in size and as may be required to fit into any baggage gauge at any entry point (including handles, pockets and wheels). There will be further details explaining this in the spectator information sent out with the Ticket and on under “Spectator Information”.
  18. Defacing or obscuring any notice or advertisement at the Venue is strictly forbidden.
  19. Failure to observe and abide by these Ground Regulations shall constitute a breach of contract and may result in ejection from the Venue and/or demarcated areas, cancellation or confiscation of the Ticket and/or legal action by RC18CL.
  20. Persons entering the Venue do so acknowledging the general risks associated with the game of golf and attending a major golf tournament, including risks associated with errant golf shots, the attendance of large crowds in confined spaces to watch limited golf holes (and surges of spectators accordingly) and those other risks related to attending a sporting competition in a golf course environment exposed to the natural elements.
  21. Where applicable, these Ground Regulations also apply to the Venue airspace.
  22. All capitalised terms in these Ground Regulations shall have the same meaning given to them in the Conditions.
