43RD RYDER CUP | Commitment To Health

OUR COMMITMENT TO HEALTH

The health and well-being of all spectators, volunteers, players, caddies, and staff remains the number one priority for the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe at the Ryder Cup.

While the excitement of the Ryder Cup will remain, many aspects of the spectator experience will be adapted. We encourage everyone to closely review the following policies and procedures before heading to Whistling Straits this September.

Note: All policies and procedures to ensure the health and well-being of all stakeholders are subject to change at the PGA’s discretion or by recommendation of the CDC or state officials.

HEALTH & WELLNESS POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Face Coverings

Indoors:
Per CDC Guidelines, regardless of vaccination status, face coverings are required at all times indoors or in fully enclosed spaces, unless actively eating or drinking. At the Ryder Cup, indoor and fully enclosed spaces include shuttle busses, the International Pavilion, Ryder Cup Shops, and the interior of all premium hospitality venues.

Outdoors:
Face coverings are strongly recommended for all spectators, staff and volunteers (ages 2 and up), while outdoors.

All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) must:

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow you to remain hands-free

At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, face shields, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.

Masks will be available for those who do not bring their own. The use of face coverings is not a substitute for social distancing.

Social Distancing

All spectators, staff, and volunteers are encouraged to maintain appropriate social distancing where possible at the Ryder Cup. While on-site, pay attention to visual and verbal indications for capacity, directional flow, and viewing area guidelines.

Signage & Guidelines

Attendees will notice increased health and wellness signage throughout the grounds, as well as visual and verbal reminders of responsible behavior. Failure to comply with any posted or verbal guidelines may result in consequential action, including expulsion from the Ryder Cup.

Rope lines

Spectators should avoid consuming any food or beverage near the rope line. Various dining areas will be available throughout the grounds.

Player Interactions

All direct player-spectator interaction is prohibited. For the health and well-being of everyone on-site, no handshakes, fist bumps, or autographs will be permitted and all spectators and volunteers are asked to maintain social distancing between themselves and players/caddies.

Cashless Environment

All on-site transactions will be cashless. No cash will be accepted. Credit card or mobile will be the only acceptable payment methods.

Sanitization and Cleaning

The Ryder Cup will have enhanced sanitization protocols in place to ensure all areas are routinely cleaned and sanitized. Sanitization and handwashing are encouraged throughout your time on-site and additional sanitation stations will be available throughout the grounds. Spectators are permitted to bring their own hand sanitizer from home.

Transportation and Parking

Face coverings will be required at all times in PGA operated shuttles, regardless of vaccination status. For the health and well-being of all spectators, volunteers, and staff, shuttles will be loaded from the rear seats forward and emptied from the front seats back.

Medical Services

If you begin to feel ill or have symptoms once on-site, go directly to a First Aid location. Medical professionals will be ready to assist you in accordance with their COVID-19 protocols.

Spectator Health Promise

Commitment to Health Promise

All spectators, staff, and volunteers must agree that they will not attend the Ryder Cup if any one or more of the following is true on the day of attendance:

  • Within the prior 14 days, they have tested positive for, or been exposed* (close contact - less than 6 feet - for 15 minutes or more) to someone who has tested positive for, COVID-19;
  • Within the prior 48 hours, they have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 identified by the CDC);

Individuals who have recently traveled to or from any state or international territory currently subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19 should follow all recommended federal, state and local protocols.

Please note: According to the CDC, older adults and people of any age with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. We encourage all guests to visit the CDC’s website to learn more about COVID-19, its symptoms, recommended prevention measures and much more. Based on this information, all guests should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend the Ryder Cup. Despite measures to mitigate, elimination of risk of contracting or transmitting a communicable disease, including, but not limited to, COVID-19, is not currently possible.

*Per CDC guidelines, individuals who have been fully vaccinated (+14 days from last required shot) or have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the previous 90 days and are fully recovered, and in all situations are asymptomatic, would be cleared to attend in this situation (Note: individuals who are fully vaccinated should have received a negative test 3-5 days after their potential exposure in order to attend).
