Monday Memories: Boyle and Will go low

With Great Britain & Ireland having not picked up a single point in the morning fourballs on day two of the 1967 Ryder Cup, it was refreshing for those fans who made the journey across the pond to see two of their players, Hugh Boyle and George Will, putting in a great front nine. The pair would shoot a better ball score of five under par for the front nine, after an eagle from Will on the par 5 ninth hole, to put them four up against the pairing of Julius Boros and Arnold Palmer.Despite taking just 30 shots between them after nine holes, the GB&I pair couldn’t carry this form on into the back nine and they were duly beaten by one hole.
