Getting to Marco Simone

Essential Travel Information
1.           Private cars can’t access the course directly, as there is no public parking available on-site.

2.      The only way for spectators to access Marco Simone Golf and Country Club is by shuttle bus from one of the Park and Ride, or Train and Ride facilities or taxi.

3.      If you have a First Tee Experience ticket for the morning session on Friday or Saturday, we recommend you aim to take the first shuttle bus from any of the locations.

HOW TO ACCESS THE COURSE
Train & Ride

We recommend that attendees staying in central Rome use Roma Termini station to access the train and ride option, which provides rapid access to the TR2 shuttle bus terminal. Read below for more info on first train times.

Train and Ride 2 (TR2)

  • First shuttle bus departs TR2: 05:20
  • Time to venue: At least 55 minutes

These estimated times include queuing to board the shuttles, a short walk to the golf course and progression through security. Times may vary depending on the level of traffic and spectator numbers, especially at peak times.

How to purchase train tickets

Tickets can be bought online at Trenitalia, or at any train station. We recommend buying the tickets online in advance, as there may be lengthy queues at stations during the event. Single ride tickets start from €1. Contactless payments cannot be made onboard.

Step-by-step guide to purchase a ticket

  1. Visit Trenitalia at https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
  2. Select From (Your location), To (La Rustica Uir), Date (Your event day) and Time (Your departure time)
    (please consider min. 1.5-2hrs travelling time including train and shuttle ride, up to security-check at Marco Simone).
  3. Select the number of passengers.
  4. Search – click on the search button to see all available options, related travel time and prices.

Note: from Rome, some trains aren’t direct. Please check before completing your booking.

Metro & Ride

From 7.30 in the morning on weekdays we advise that these metro services are likely to be very busy with local commuter traffic.

Metro and Ride 1 (TR1)

    How to purchase Metro tickets

    Metro tickets can be purchased on the day from any station, and contactless payments can be made at the turnstiles by credit, debit, or prepaid card. Single ride tickets start from €1,50.

    Park & Ride

    From the dedicated park and ride car parks there will be free shuttle buses to and from the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club.

    Please note, roads around the venue will be closed, and there is no public parking near or at the venue.

    Motorcycle: Fans wishing to travel by motorcycle will be redirected to dedicated motorcycle parking near the venue.

    Pedestrian: There is no pedestrian access to the course or park and ride locations. Pedestrians are advised to use the free shuttle buses from the train and ride locations.

    Taxi

    To the venue: Taxis can drop fans off at a designated drop-off in the West Terminal near the course.

    From the venue: At the end of each day taxis will be available from the designated pick-up area in the West Terminal. If you have booked an Uber Black or Limousine it will leave from the car park in A1. The entrance for A1 is located behind the 9th tee.

    Taxi pricing and availability: Please note that there is a standard fee of €75 to and from central Rome (within the Aurelian walls), and a minimum metred fare of €35 from other areas - for more info click here. Due to the high volume of spectators travelling to and from the course, there may be limited availability.

    Accessibility

    Park & Ride: There will be dedicated parking space for people with mobility/accessibility requirements. If you wish to book a parking space, please contact rydercupticketing@europeantourgroup.com and a member of the customer service team will assist you.

    Train & Ride: There will be dedicated accessible shuttle buses from Ponte Mammolo for those with issues. There is also limited on-site parking for people with mobility issues – please read below for more info.

    On Course: We also have a dedicated on-site service for anyone with mobility/accessibility requirements, with both Electric Mobility Scooters and Manual Wheelchairs available for rent on-site across the whole week.
