Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2023 Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, Rome, Italy

Fresh off of his first career PGA Tour win, 21-year-old Aaron Wise took a massive stride toward making his first Ryder Cup appearance with a dominant showing at the AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas.

Wise shattered the Byron Nelson scoring record and jumped from No. 46 to No. 12 in the Ryder Cup standings. Perhaps he can become the next great under-30 USA member, following in the footsteps of guys like Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler and Brooks Koepka. Wise took home the NCAA men's individual championship for Oregon just two years ago.

He was the only hopeful to move inside the top 12 this week.

The top 11 in the latest Ryder Cup USA standings remained the same with Masters champ Patrick Reed leading the way. Thomas is No. 2, followed by Dustin Johnson at No. 3, Spieth at No. 4, Bubba Watson at No. 5 and Fowler at No. 6.

The were no significant movers beyond Wise, but former PGA Champion Jimmy Walker leaped three spots from No. 18 to No. 15. Walker finished sixth in Dallas on Sunday.

U.S. players will continue to gain points in 2018 at every non-opposite PGA Tour event, WGC and major through the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive, concluding on August 12, 2018.

At that time, Captain Jim Furyk will have his first eight players -- automatic qualifiers.

The four remaining slots on the U.S. Team will be Captain's Selections. Three selections will be announced by Captain Jim Furyk following the Dell Technologies Championship scheduled to be completed on Sept. 3, 2018, and the final selection will be announced after the BMW Championship, which is slated to be completed on Sept. 9, 2018.

Here's how players will earn points in 2018.
