BMW has been committed to the Ryder Cup as a partner since 2006. In Paris, the German automobile manufacturer will provide golf enthusiasts with numerous opportunities to experience the event of the year with BMW.
On the BMW Golfsport Facebook channel, the fans can be part of the biggest virtual car parade of the 2018 Ryder Cup and cheer for Team Europe!
An augmented reality filter will enable Facebook fans to film themselves or take a picture with a BMW X5 – either with the US or Europe livery – giving them a fun way to share their support of one of the two teams with their friends.
Try it out: Simply select the BMW X5 livery at www.facebook.com/bmwgolfsport, take a selfie and be part of the Ryder Cup motorcade. We hope you cheer for Europe!
Twelve lucky winners will experience the Ryder Cup up close and personal with BMW. Over the past few months, BMW Golfsport set tasks for their fans via their social media channels, as well as at selected BMW tournaments on the European Tour. The winners of these twelve challenges were selected for Ryder Cup Team BMW and invited to Paris, where they will not only witness the epic duel between the USA and Europe, but will also meet the captain of Ryder Cup Team BMW on several occasions: José Maria Olazábal, the father of the “Miracle of Medinah”.
BMW has even more in store for golf fans: BMW Owners or BMW Ticket holders can access the First Floor of the BMW Lounge located in the East Village with great views to the 7th T Box, just show your BMW ticket or key at the BMW Lounge for access and receive access alongside complementary tea and coffee. Non BMW Owners who would like to experience our BMW Ground Floor Lounge – please speak to a member of BMW Staff in the East and West Village.
One of the most famous anecdotes in Ryder Cup history is that of Rory McIlroy, who missed his tee time by a whisker on the Sunday in 2012. In Paris, BMW will make sure that not only the players, but also the organisers and the VIP guests always arrive at their destination on time and relaxed. 225 BMW cars will be on constant duty during the Ryder Cup week.
