Bernhard Langer was a key part of Europe's first victory over the US since 1957, as he picked up three points for the team.
He closed out his impressive display against Hal Sutton in the Sunday singles matches by nearly making an ace at the par 3 14th hole.
The ball was tracking but would agonisingly horseshoe out and finish a few feet from the hole.
Nonetheless, a birdie two would be enough to win his match and put another point on the board for the Europeans.
