Monday Memories: A rainy Celtic Manor

Although there were several weather delays at The 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor, that didn’t dampen the spirits of the fans on the first tee on the opening day.

Fans battled the pouring rain and arrived in darkness in order to get a seat around the raucous first tee.

Dustin Johnson of America struck the first ball of the tournament, as he and his partner Phil Mickelson took on  Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood.

The week would end with Europe reclaiming the Ryder Cup after defeat at Valhalla in 2008.
