Players react to Harrington captaincy
Padraig Harrington has been named the 2020 European Ryder Cup captain and will look to lead the team to a successful defence at Whistling Straits.
In 2018, the Irishman was one of Thomas Bjørn's vice-captains at Le Golf National but in 2020 he will make the step up to captain on American soil.
And it hasn't taken players long to send their congratulations to the six-time appearance maker.

Congrats to Padraig - no doubt he will have us well prepared for the huge challenge of winning away from home. The exam will probably be one of stiff breezes on a course reminiscent to many in Europe with rolling fairways / greens and fescue grasses https://t.co/yDDtC0gQr2— Paul McGinley (@mcginleygolf) January 8, 2019
But what did the man himself have to say?
