Road to Rome 2023 continues with “Golf in the Piazza”
The journey on the Road to Rome 2023 continued in the Eternal City last weekend as the Ryder Cup continued to inspire the Italian population, with “Golf in the Piazza” taking place at Rome’s spectacular Piazza di Siena.
Golf enthusiasts, families and tourists alike were given the opportunity to take a swing at glory in the famous grounds of Villa Borghese as its Piazza di Siena was transformed into a mini golf course with 11 swing stations.
The gathering crowds got to experience the magic of golf in the presence of the famous Ryder Cup trophy, as the excitement builds for Rome’s first hosting of golf’s greatest team event at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, from September 29 – October 1, 2023.
The build-up will continue over the next two years as the trophy journeys around Italy, inspiring a nation of future golfers.
Present at Piazza di Siena for the latest stage in the Road to Rome were Franco Chimenti, President of the Italian Golf Federation, Gian Paolo Montali, General Manager of the Ryder Cup 2023 project, and Carlo Scatena, President of the Lazio Regional Committee FIG Golf in Piazza was sponsored by the City of Rome, along with its Institutional Partner, the Lazio Region, and was supported by DS Automobiles (Main Partner); Fideuram (Official Bank); Kappa (Technical Supplier); Lindt Italia and Eureco (Official Supplier); Corriere dello Sport, Tuttosport and Il Giornale (Media Partners).
