A familiar Champ reigns atop a PGA TOUR leaderboard once again.

More than 21 months after his last victory, California’s Cameron Champ stepped back into the winner’s circle, claiming his third TOUR title at this week’s 3M Open.

The 2020-2021 season has been a mixed bag for Champ, with a handful of top-20 finishes sprinkled among close to a dozen missed cuts. Champ, who saw things begin to move in the right direction with a T11 finish two weeks ago at the John Deere Classic, reflected on recent changes in his life on and off the course that helped him find balance.

“I just feel like the last two months I've been in a lot better head space and kind of realizing what is truly important to me and what is not,” said Champ. “I've just been sticking to it.”

With the win, Champ moves 27 spots to 35th in the U.S. Team Ranking. Gary Woodland had the Top 25’s largest jump, up three spots to 21st.

The Top 12 stayed static, with just four weeks of points-earning opportunities remaining before the initial six team members are locked in following the BMW Championship.
