Scottie Scheffler Far & Away No. 1 in U.S. Team Rankings After Winning PGA Championship

It was less than four years ago that Scottie Scheffler made his Ryder Cup debut at Whistling Straits without a single PGA TOUR victory.

And now the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler is a PGA Champion and three-time major championship winner after nearly lapping the field at Quail Hollow Club.

Scheffler is far & away No. 1 in the latest U.S. Team Rankings through two major championships in the 2025 season, sitting atop the list with 21,490.75 points. Xander Schauffle (11,746.84) remains in the second spot, while Bryson DeChambeau (10,318.00) jumped two spots to No. 3 with his T-2 finish.

Justin Thomas (9,342.83), Collin Morikawa (8,917.11) and Russell Henley (7,877.80) round out the top-6.



Scheffler put on a clinic over the weekend at the PGA Championship, pulling away from the field with a 5-under, 65, in the third round before calmly maintaining his lead with a steady round of even par on Sunday.

"This is a special tournament," Scheffler said after his victory. "Any time you can win a major championship is pretty cool, and I'm proud of how I did this week just staying in it mentally and hitting the shots when I needed to. This back nine will be one that I remember for a long time. It was a grind out there."

2021 U.S. Ryder Cup Team member improved his chances of making his second appearance with a mesemerizing 5-under, 65, in the final round to finish tied for second. The runner-up finished moved him up five spots in the U.S. Team Rankings to No. 7 with 6,282.30 points.

Captain Keegan Bradley also moved up five spots in the U.S. Team rankings to No. 17 with his first top-10 finish in a major championship since the 2022 U.S. Open. Bradley finished T-8 at 4-under.

The biggest mover of the week was Davis Riley, who is bidding for his first Ryder Cup apperance. Riley jumped 39 spots in the rankings to No. 25 by finishing T-2 alongside English & DeChambeau.
