It's official. Steve Stricker will captain the 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup team on his home soil in Wisconsin at Whistling Straits as the Americans look to recapture the Ryder Cup.

Stricker is the 29th person to serve as captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Following the announcement of his captaincy in Milwaukee, the golf world took to social media to congratulate and welcome the new captain.

During the announcement, John Daly was one of the first to send a text with his congratulations during the press conference.

Some of the local sports teams also joined in celebrating Captain Stricker and presented him with some team jerseys.
