Tiger Woods moves into Ryder Cup USA top 20 following The Open Championship

Tiger Woods and Kevin Chappell are the biggest movers in the latest Ryder Cup USA Rankings after The 147th Open Championship, where the two players tied for sixth at 5-under, three strokes behind champion Francesco Molinari. Tiger is now 20th in the standings – up 11 spots from last week – and Chappell jumped 13 spots to 22nd.

There was little movement among the top 12 players this week. No. 8 Webb Simpson and No. 9 Bryson DeChambeau switched spots from the previous week and Xander Schauffele jumped four spots to No. 11 thanks to his tied-for-second finish at The Open, with Matt Kuchar dropping one spot to No. 12. Brooks Koepka still holds a strong lead at the No. 1 spot with 8,981.472 points.

U.S. players will continue to gain points in 2018 at every non-opposite PGA Tour event, WGC and major through the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive, concluding on August 12, 2018.

At that time, Captain Jim Furyk will have his first eight players -- automatic qualifiers.

The four remaining slots on the U.S. Team will be Captain's Selections. Three selections will be announced by Captain Jim Furyk following the Dell Technologies Championship scheduled to be completed on Sept. 3, 2018, and the final selection will be announced after the BMW Championship, which is slated to be completed on Sept. 9, 2018.

Here's how players will earn points in 2018.
