Following the conclusion of the successful Open Day, the Italian Golf federation’s President, Franco Chimenti, said: “This project, that the Italian Golf Federation works with in full harmony with Lavinia Biagiotti and the whole team of Marco Simone, is a very special one, and I want to thank everyone involved. This is the first of a long series of events that will be held in the future home of The Ryder Cup.

“I’d like to thank representatives of the Municipality of Rome and Guidonia Montecelio and all the other authorities who have honoured us with their presence here today, which has strengthened the collaborative atmosphere that is being created ahead of the Europe against USA contest.

"Looking ahead to The Ryder Cup, we have brought the Italian Open back to Rome in 2019 and we will continue to try and boost the territory as much as we can.”
