Another week of qualification is in the books and just one week and one event remains in the race to make it on the European Ryder Cup team. Five players teed it up last week with a chance of playing their way into an automatic qualification spot, looking to jump ahead of Thorbjorn Olesen who currently holds the final qualifying place in the World Points List, but none were able to capitalise.

On Tuesday, Thomas Bjorn completed his back-room staff for the Ryder Cup, announcing that Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Graeme McDowell and Padraig Harrington will join Robert Karlsson as vice captains at Le Golf National. With a combined 29 appearances between them, the captain's team is one of the most experienced groups assembled at a Ryder Cup and each will look to bring something different the role of vice captain.

European Team captain Thomas Bjorn has called a press conference at Wentworth on Tuesday to make an "important announcement" regarding the 2018 Ryder Cup. Ahead of the BMW PGA Championship, the first Rolex Series event of the season on the European Tour, Captain Bjorn will speak with the media at 2pm BST.
