Captain Keegan Bradley Climbs to No. 9 in U.S. Rankings with Win at Travelers Championship

By Ryder Cup Digital On June 23, 2025 14:30 UTC

U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley put himself in position to become the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1962 with a dramatic win at the Travelers Championship.

Trailing by one on the final hole, Bradley put himself in position to tie leader Tommy Fleetwood with a birdie. Fleetwood missed his par putt, only for Bradley to sink a tournament-clinching birdie putt for his eighth PGA TOUR victory.

The PGA TOUR signature event win earned Bradley 3,600 U.S. Ryder Cup Team points and moved him to No. 9 in the rankings.

Bradley reflected on potential of being a playing captain with the media following his win, saying, "My whole life every year I was out here I wanted to play on the Ryder Cup team, and then this would be the first year where maybe I didn't want to. I just wanted to be the captain and, of course, you know, this is what happens. But we'll see. I'm going to do whatever I think is best for the team."

Russell Henley also shook up the rankings, moving up three spots into the automatic qualifier top-6. Henley chipped in on No. 18 before Bradley's clutch moment to finish in a tie for a second with Fleetwood. The runner-up finish put Henley at No. 4 on the U.S. Rankings.

The top-6 is led by Scottie Scheffler (Qualified) and also includes Xander Schauffele (No. 2), U.S. Open winner J.J. Spaun (No. 3), Henley (No. 4), Bryson DeChambeau (No. 5) and Justin Thomas (No. 6). The top-6 following the BMW Championship later this season will automatically qualify for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
