No movement in Ryder Cup USA top 10; Ryan Palmer climbs 58 spots

Ryan Palmer was ousted on the first hole of a three-way, sudden-death playoff in the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday, but as the highest American finisher at Torrey Pines, he was able to climb 58 spots from No. 78 to No. 20 in the latest Ryder Cup USA standings.

Showing up for the first time in the 2018 standings was Tiger Woods.

In his 2018 debut, Woods tied for 23rd at Torrey Pines and currently occupies the No. 92 spot on the points list.

Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar continue to own the top-5 positions, in that order.

Bill Haas was the only player in the top 12 from one week ago to improve his position at the Farmers. He went from No. 12 to No. 11 with a tie for 54th, dropping Kevin Chappell from No. 11 to No. 12.

U.S. players will continue to gain points in 2018 at every non-opposite PGA Tour event, WGC and major through the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive, concluding on August 12, 2018.

At that time, Captain Jim Furyk will have his first eight players -- automatic qualifiers.

The four remaining slots on the U.S. Team will be Captain's Selections. Three selections will be announced by Captain Jim Furyk following the Dell Technologies Championship scheduled to be completed on Sept. 3, 2018, and the final selection will be announced after the BMW Championship, which is slated to be completed on Sept. 9, 2018.

Here's how players will earn points in 2018.
