The 2023 Ryder Cup, which will be the most digitally engaging Ryder Cup in history, will see the launch of Outcome IQ powered by Capgemini.

Focused on amplifying the fan experience, Capgemini and the Ryder Cup have developed a new analytics tool that will provide live and historical outcome probabilities for each hole, match and overall Ryder Cup. Designed to re-imagine the spectator experience, Outcome IQ powered by Capgemini, will offer new insight into the unfolding drama and will update live after each shot.

Michael Cole, Ryder Cup Europe Chief Technology Officer - “Outcome IQ enables us to further extend our engagement for the on-course spectator and global fans, and offer a level of insight that hasn’t previously been possible. Whilst data is critical, it’s the intelligence that Capgemini have created that provides the real currency from technology.”

Outcome IQ powered by Capgemini will draw upon all Ryder Cup match data since 1985 as well as all twenty-four player statistics, whether in their seventh Ryder Cup or making their debut. It will not predict the outcome of each match or take the uncertainty out of the event but serve as an insights-rich guide on key momentum shifts, highlighting remarkable turnarounds and driving conversations amongst fans.

Outcome IQ is custom-built to the format of the Ryder Cup, combining Artificial Intelligence with a deep understanding of the game. It is more than just an analytical tool. It’s been made to deliver insightful in-game analysis based on past player performance and how various team pairings will impact the competition.  It will help fans understand why every shot matters,” said Deepak Juneja, Vice President, Head of Global Data Management, Capgemini, Financial Services.

The Outcome IQ powered by Capgemini model is based on four types of data: past player performance; specific characteristics of the course and each hole; lie of the ball, and player pairings. Its analytics will be published across the TV broadcast, on the Ryder Cup website and app and across the big screens for fans onsite.

As a Worldwide Partner of the 2023 Ryder Cup, Capgemini, through its deep technology and business transformation expertise, will work closely with Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America to constantly adapt, master and apply the latest innovations in technology and sport - through the lens of precision and accuracy - to deliver the perfect approach, which are fundamentals of success in both industries.
