Italy will host its first Ryder Cup this September and as part of the build up to eagerly anticipated contest at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister visited New York, the city which will succeed Rome as host in 2025.
Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, was greeted at Consulate General of Italy in New York by Don Rea, Vice President of the Professional Golfers Association of America.
The pair posed for photographs with the Ryder Cup, the famous trophy which will be contested by Europe and the United States at Marco Simone from September 25 – October 1.
Former World Number One Luke Donald will Captain Team Europe, while Zach Johnson, the two-time Major Champion, will lead Team USA.
The baton will then be handed over to Bethpage Black for 2025 as it becomes only the second New York course, after Oak Hill Country Club, to host a Ryder Cup.
