Player Profile: Tyrrell Hatton
Consecutive wins at the back end of 2017 – in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Italian Open – virtually guaranteed Hatton’s automatic qualification for a Ryder Cup debut from a very early stage.
He may have flown under the radar somewhat in 2018 having not added to his title haul thus far this season, but it has still been one of the best campaigns of his career.
The Englishman came close to a first World Golf Championship title at the WGC - Mexico Championship, only to drop a shot at the final hole to miss out on a play-off by a single shot. He then followed that with top tens at the WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play, the U.S. Open, the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open and the US PGA Championship.
Hatton is an exciting prospect on his Ryder Cup debut - a fiery competitor who wears his heart on his sleeve. Add to that a three points out of three record in January’s EurAsia Cup and a top 20 finish at Le Golf National in July, and Hatton could be a real surprise package for the home fans to savour in Paris.

Quoute: “I’m glad that it’s finally here. I obviously managed to get a lot of my qualification points early on the process so it has been a long wait for me. So to be able to finally get there and get going will be a bit of a relief in some ways. My game is in good shape too so hopefully I can be there to help the Thomas and the team whenever they need me.”
