U.S. Team greeted by emotional National Anthem
The 2025 Ryder Cup in New York began with a special moment for the U.S. Team on the first Tee on Monday morning.
U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley invited the U.S. Team, Vice Captains and caddies to hear from a few inspirational individuals, including Mike Pomerico of the Nassau Players Club, Keegan’s St. John’s teammate Seve Calmi, followed by a special rendition of the National Anthem by Bryan A. Robinson FDNY L-16 / Ceremonial Unit. The gathering concluded with a poignant address from FDNY Lieutenant Chris Mascali.
Team Europe arrive at Bethpage Black
While Robert MacIntyre and Rasmus Hojgaard arrived ahead of the team bus for some earlier practice, ten of the members of Team Europe arrived together to a reception from members of Team Europe staff.... and Matt Fitzpatrick had a little help from Rory McIlroy with his bag.
On-course Practice
There was plenty of smiles and singing as the U.S. Team were the first side to take to the course on Monday morning. Playing in three groups of four, the highlights were some singing from Bryson Dechambeau and an impressive birdie-birdie finish for Ben Griffin. A sign of things to come?
Dechambeau and Griffin played in a group with Justin Thomas and Cameron Young, followed by the four-ball of Harris English, Russell Henley, Scottie Scheffler and J.J. Spaun. Behind them, Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele made up the final group.

Team Europe's uniform a nod to the past
A very clear and notable nod to Europe's four previous away victories was evident on Monday, starting with the entire team wearing a pink coloured top from the archives. With threads of victory a theme for Europe this week, they started with a top from 1987: Their first away win. Tuesday they will wear a top from 1995, Wednesday a top from , and Thursday a top from 2012.
Hearing from the Captains
On opening day of Ryder Cup week at Bethpage Black, teams are practicing, the intrigue in pairings is swirling, and Captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald are hitting the ground running to get their squads prepped for play later this week.
First, though, Bradley and Donald let the world in a bit on what's going through their heads on Monday, Sept. 22, sharing some insight, perspective and things maybe not every golf fan knew about the two of them.
