The annual Sport Industry Awards were held in London on Thursday evening, in what is regularly described as the “Oscars” of the UK sports industry. Ryder Cup Europe took home the silverware for Best Sports Documentary for Una Famiglia, an epic cinematic production that delved into Team Europe’s preparations for Rome 2023. The team fought off stiff competition from the likes of TNT Sports and Comic Relief to win the accolade.
Ryder Cup Europe were also nominated in the Sports Team of the Year category after its historic away victory at Bethpage last year, but lost out to a deserving England Lionesses football team, who captured back-to-back European Championships last year. Ryder Cup Europe won that same award in 2024, following its victory in Rome.

Speaking about the award win Tom Jackson, Group Director of Content at the European Tour group, said: “Una Famiglia gave unprecedented access to Team Europe, going behind-the-scenes to follow Luke Donald and his team on the journey to Rome, as well unpacking everything from that special week in a series of exclusive interviews with key players. This was our first foray into a cinematic, feature length film that would get fans inside the European team dynamic and explore what makes the unique bond between our players so special. The reaction from fans, and industry peers, has been fantastic and this Award is further recognition that our content continues to innovate.”
