Una Famiglia Wins Best Documentary at Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival

Una Famiglia in partnership with Rolex, a documentary by Ryder Cup Productions and IMG following Captain Luke Donald on his road to 2023 Ryder Cup victory, won Best Documentary at the Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival.

The 45th instalment of the festival took place at the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.

Una Famiglia showcases the unique culture of the Team Europe family and explores how Donald built on the foundations of previous Captains and teams to extend a proud unbeaten record on home soil that stretches back to Seve Ballesteros’ winning Captaincy in 1997.

Featuring Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Åberg, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood as well as past Captains Paul McGinley and José Maria Olazábal, these members of Team Europe both past and present give a first-hand account of the week in Rome and what makes the Ryder Cup so special for those who have represented Team Europe over the decades.

Group Director of Content Tom Jackson said: “We had always envisioned the premise of creating an authentic Ryder Cup documentary, but this required a Captain with a vision and commitment to this and deep trust in our production team having unprecedented access to his team and environment.

“Luke Donald fully bought into this vision and our production team were able to immerse themselves within the team room and the fabric of Team Europe, so it felt as natural as possible when the cameras were rolling.

“A truly authentic experience which comes through clearly with the film itself.”

Una Famiglia also received four further nominations for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Production and Best Sport Film.

Produced in collaboration by Ryder Cup Productions and IMG, Una Famiglia was the first feature film of its kind to be produced by Team Europe.
