Biography

Eight-time PGA Tour winner Patrick Cantlay makes his third straight Ryder Cup appearance following a 2025 that included four top-5 finishes, culminating in a tie for second in the TOUR Championship.

Cantlay, a native of Long Beach, Calif., posted a 3-0-1 record in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, joining Collin Morikawa as the leading point scorers for the victorious U.S. team. He would follow that up with a 2-2-0 performance in 2023 at Marco Simone in Italy, which would include a Sunday Singles victory over Justin Rose.

The former UCLA standout first reached the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2011, playing for the United States Walker Cup team that year.

Cantlay finished tied for third in the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, which to date matches his best performance in a major championship. He also tied for third in the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.
